A very successful My Eye health program presentation was made to members of community groups

at Jamestown on Wednesday 26th March 2014 with more than 50 attending.

 

The Freemasons of The Victoria Lodge, in conjunction with the Jamestown Community Action Group, arranged the presentation conducted by Pam Johnston, Georgia Nichols-Pavy from the Royal Society for the Blind Adelaide Office and Heather Sheldon from the Port Augusta office.

Those in attendance from the Jamestown Community and surrounding areas such as Booleroo Centre, Tarcowie and Mount Bryan, included the Freemasons, Soroptomists, C.W.A., Lions and the Hospital Auxiliary.

 

Colin Kaehne and Ian Shields from The Victoria Lodge with Caroline Dent and Lorinda Bayley, from the Jamestown Community Action Group were the main organisers, supported by Mayor Clark and his wife, Mary, of the Northern Areas Council.

 

Pam Johnston spoke on aspects of eye health and the facilities provided by the R.S.B while Heather Sheldon provided details on the support facilities available in the district for those who are vision impaired.
