Grand Lodge wishes to advise in advance of the pending retirement of our Grand Secretary, R.W.Bro. Max Atkinson. (also Grand Scribe Ezra and Grand Scribe).

Max has taken this decision in consultation with the CEO that his last official duty will be at the Grand Installation Ceremony on Saturday 18th April 2015.

As Max puts it, “he is not getting any younger” and it is time to “pass on the baton”.

He has contributed of recent two years enormously in his role given his previous position and excellent understanding of the Regulations and of this organisation in particular. The CEO thanks him sincerely for his contribution and of being support to himself in particular, as well as to other administration staff.

A new Grand Secretary will be invested at the Grand Installation in April 2015 in the person of W.Bro. Neil McBrearty.  Neil was Worshipful Master of Lodge of Friendship No. 1, in 2004 – 2005 and Secretary for two years thereafter.

He is a most approachable and sincere person and we are sure will carry out the duties of his role very well.

Neil will work the same hours per week (2 days) as Max has done in the past. He will commence in early November 2014, spending time in “on-the-job” training with Max in particular and liaison with myself, as well as other office staff.

Grand Lodge wishes him well in his new role and asks that you extend the same courtesies to him as you have to Max in the previous two years.
