Re-Affirmation of Twinning Ceremony - The Yorke Valley Lodge and Edwardstown Lewis Lodge

On Monday 3rd April 2017, the regular Re-Affirmation of Twinning Ceremony between The Yorke Valley Lodge No. 67 and Edwardstown Lewis lodge No. 207 was conducted at Edwardstown Lodge Hall in the presence of the Deputy Grand Master RWBro. Bill Merrill and a retinue of Grand Lodge Officers.

Christopher David Selwood, of Clayton Bay South Australia received an AM in the Queen's Birthday 2017 Honors List. This Honor was for significant service to Science and Technology, particularly through the development and promotion of Solar Vehicles, and to the Community.

Edwardstown Complex Social Club Bowls Night

On the 30th March 2017 the Edwardstown Complex Social Club held its Annual Bowls Night, which has been in existence for approximately twenty years. Traditionally it is a Memorial Bowls Night in honour of Bro. Alan Griggs, a Member of Edwardstown Lodge who passed away suddenly at a Lodge Meeting.

Second Degree at the Lodge of Friendship No.1

On Thursday 4th May 2017, the Lodge of Friendship No. 1 held its Regular Meeting. The Working for the evening was passing Bro. Kent Taylor. He had been an Entered Apprentice for seven months and had immensely enjoyed his Freemasonry.

My dad was up from Rockhampton and Les, a mate of Scottish extract, was visiting from Sydney. Another good mate, Steve was over, as well as my two boys, William and Henry (Steve and Les are their Godfathers).

At Edwardstown Lodge's meeting held on 31st March 2017, there was a departure from working a Degree. The Brethren were presented with an interesting and meaningful Educational Lecture. In November 2016 - whilst visiting the Perfect Cube Lodge, Edwardstown Lodge's Worshipful Master, VWBro. Gary Joerin, witnessed a Lecture on the First Degree Tracing Board, presented by the Director of Masonic Learning, VWBro. M.G. (Fred) Trueman APM.

It was that time again, when the South Australian Mark and Mariner enthusiasts were invited to Mildura for the bi-ennial State of Origin meetings with the Victorians. On arrival in Mildura on Friday evening, the Delegation was informed that a brief practice session (dinner) was to be held at Gateway Tavern to enable them to meet and get to know the Victorian Team.

At the Regular Meeting of McDouall Sturart Lodge No. 219 on April 6th 2017, WBro. Grant Ohlmus, Secretary, gave a Lecture on Carl Theodor Strehlow. Carl was not a Freemason so one might wonder why present a Lecture on his life and works within the constructs of a Lodge.
