Walk to D’Feet Motor Neurone Disease

Approximately 1000 people participated in the 4.5km route around the River Torrens Precinct to raise awareness and funds to help fight Motor Neurone Disease, for which there is no cure.
The Walk to D’Feet is the Motor Neurone Disease Association of SA’s largest fundraising event. It is a beacon of hope, solidarity and camaraderie for people living with a cruel terminal illness.
Masonic Charities Trust joins MNDSA as a major supporter, having provided a grant of more than $228,000 to fund expansion to a purpose-fitted facility at Mile End.
Masonic Charities as the major philanthropic arm of Freemasonry in South Australia and the Northern Territory, responded to a request for financial assistance to help ensure reliable and accessible services can continue for MND sufferers and their families.
MNDSA does not receive any ongoing federal or state government funding for the majority of its services.
David Booker, the new Grand Master of the Freemasons of South Australia and the Northern Territory, officially opened this year’s Walk to D’Feet.
The funding from Masonic Charities is assisting MNDSA expand to a new self-sufficient centre of excellence, secure a custom vehicle to deliver critical equipment and devices to people living with MND, and upgrade IT for online patient records, asset management, telehealth, e-learning, online fundraising and e-commerce.
